The beginning date the various states reported is available. This file proved useful in making calculations in the process of developing PLDF3. The term “first year” is used in the table of the list of libraries in PLDF3 that is made available below to mean the first year that particular library reported to FSCS. In most cases, the beginning date and first year are the same but not in all cases.
These files have the list of libraries in different formats. Each has a line for each of the 10,245 public libraries ever reporting to NCES or IMLS and now in PLDF3.
The list of the libraries is of the following form:
newkey | span | first year | last year | ZIP | state | CITY | Library Name |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
CO0001 | A | 1987 | 2003 | 80229 | CO | THORNTON | ADAMS COUNTY LIBRARY SYSTEM |
CO0074 | A | 1987 | 2003 | 80421 | CO | LOUISVILLE | LOUISVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY |
CO0082 | A | 1987 | 2003 | 80421 | CO | GRAND JUNCTION | MESA COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY DISTRICT |
CO0091 | S | 1987 | 1989 | 80743 | CO | Otis | Otis PL |
CO0094 | A | 1987 | 2003 | 80421 | CO | BAILEY | PARK COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY |
These libraries listed were on the main PLDF3 page except for Otis PL which was included to show a library with a span that is other than A. Otis (CO0091) began reporting data in 1987 and stopped in 1989 having reported data for three years. The information in this file and the newkey were gleaned from the 1989 data. Curiously, during those three years, Otis had three separate FSCSKEYs.
The list of libraries files are in order by newkey
