PLDF3 Data

There are currently three kinds of datasets offered here: files of the complete dataset, the data for FY 2009, and individual state spreadsheets of the full PLDF3 data for each of the several states and territories.

Complete Data

These sets of data contain all of PLDF3 but are a bit large for downloading. I will be happy to arrange a means to send these data to anyone who wants them. The SAS dataset is the master copy. All versions and all files are derived from it.

Note that imputations have been removed and that the infrastructure of PLDF3 has been added to the raw IMLS data.

The SAS master copy of the data was used to create the .csv file. It, in turn, was read into Libre Office Calc. A bit of tidying up was done. Then the .csv file was saved and then used to create the .ods and .xls files. These files were each zipped separately. When the files are unzipped, they will have the filenames indicated in the comments above.

State Spreadsheets of PLDF3 Data

The files are in order by year, state, then newkey for years for which each library supplied data. The data for each state are in .csv files. The larger ones are zipped and will have a filename indicating that fact. For example: pldf3al.zip is the zipped .csv file of the Alabama PLDF3 data. The unzipped filename will be pldf3al.csv. A file such as pldf3de.csv indicates that this file for Delaware public library data in PLDF3 was not zipped.
